i just overheard haye say

"HAHAHAHAHA DO YOU LIKE POPCORN FIGHTS, MARIAH?"

um. yeah. i told them if they had any more popcorn fights they would NEVER GET POPCORN AGAIN! they cleaned it up pretty fast :P

haye loves to pretend he is a mailman

actually, leading up to this conversation he was walking around singing songs about delivering the mail and what kinds of packages he was delivering like he was the star of a musical. if you
h: hi mariah i'm the mailman.
m: well my mailman is a girl.
h: well i'm a boy.
m: yeah so you can't be my mailman because i have a girl mailman.
h: i can be your mailman.
m: no because you are not a girl.

...silence...

h: actually i am the mailman and i deliver stuff to you. just a second. special deliver, special deliver! mariah. here's the special deliver for you. you need it.
m: oh cool.
h: it's the sweater you're waiting for
m: throw it in the junkyard. **tosses the package in a pile**
h: that's not the junkyard, this is the recycling. here you go.

...silence...

h: do i have to knock first mariah?
m: yes mr. mailman, just put it over there.

...silence...

h: mariah your mail is here! do you want to see your mail, mariah? your mail is wood. do you like wood mariah?
m: no.
h: well that's fine. here mom! special deliver for mom.
mom: thanks, i love it! (it was a big piece of wood that i think derek is planning on painting)

**sidenote: it was about this time i noticed it was 7:30 and had been warning the kids for 20 minutes that it was almost bedtime.**

mom: k you guys have one more minute to deliver all the packages... *points* there's the mailboxes - the buckets where you put the toys away. go put the mail in the buckets okay?
h: okay!

...and then i lost track of the conversation - but that was it word for word :)

back in time

okay okay here's a couple photos

you can't really see haye in these very well, but i LOVE these photos. unfortunately for us, my aunt passed away in september and while it is and was a very sad time, we were really fortunate to get to see my family! so here we are in all our glory (one with my mom when my poppa was taking the photo and one with my poppa while mom was taking the photo) :)

blogs just aren't fun without pictures

yeah, our camera is still busted. i should get it fixed. i should probably also punctuate my sentences. oh well. :P

man...have we ever been busy! there's lots to update and no time.
hmm well haye is in the aboriginal preschool and has a new cute little friend named ryder who is in his class. usually he loves it...honestly i think he's too smart for it and gets bored very easily, so he gets into mischief. derek was going for quite awhile with haye because they were going to *ahem* kick him out for not listening etc. that sounds worse than it really was. :P derek probably went for like 5 weeks twice a week and it got better...this week haye asked to go alone and he did really well so that's a major improvement! derek says that haye is finished both sides of the handouts before they are even finished handing them out and explaining them, so you can see why he's bored.

he also started hip-hop classes in september which is pretty much the cutest thing ever...i think there's about 6 girls in his class and they dance in the best studio in town. we're pretty stoked that he's been allowed in the class, as they only let 5 year olds in this class and have never even done it this young before this year. so yeah, we're excited for him! they dance 10 months of the year, and in january they start learning their routine and in june they perform in the kelowna theatre in front of 800+ people. (i promise we'll have our camera fixed soon and definitely before the performance!!!)

hmmm...what else...

-haye's favourite number is 607. if you ask him how much he loves you, he'll say "i love you six hundred seven, one hundred eight, one hundred nine" (etc etc etc)
-still REALLY into boardgames, especially TIME, green eggs and ham, the fairly oddparents game, and as always, stratego.

oh and success!
he now eats SALAD! this is a big deal for a child who hates most vegetables! usually he only likes caesar salad but that's okay with us.

haye holds up a smalll, yellow ball and says:

"LOOK MOM! look at this small yellow ball! you can't ever eat this or you will DIE!"
"oh really? wow. yeah i guess you could die if you ate that"
"lucas said that if you eat it you will die FOR REAL LIFE!"
"oh wow. yeah don't eat it then"

FOR REAL LIFE is one of haye's new expressions that is just too adorable.
another adorable thing i need to get my camera fixed to capture is the faces he makes when he raps along to music in the backseat of the car. i can't even attempt to describe it it is so funny.
